Manuel Tur: Foolin’ / The Traveller 12″
Been a fan of Manuel Tur’s material ever since Minimal Man put me on to some of his tech house stuff a few years ago. Apparently Tur is able to rock the soulful disco house style just as well (if not better) than the tech stuff as evident on this killer Delusions of Grandeur release. “Foolin'” is just pure butter for the dancefloor; a prime slice of deep and soulful dance music with lush horns, chords and rolling bass, all topped with a simple yet effective vocal hook. Instrumental is also included here, as well as “The Traveller,” a track more in line with his previous works that boasts a minimal thump with haunting live strings, horns and groovy bass. Recommended.
