Leron Carson / Dion Wilson: Tracks From The Tape Vinyl 12″

Unreleased house jams from the south side of Chicago! I’ve always had a special place in my bag for Leron Carson’s “Red Lightbulb” so it’s great to see him back on Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature label. They’ve dug a little deeper and unearthed some tracks Carson collaborated on with Dion Wilson (bka Chicago hip hop luminary No I.D.). Both “Siren” and “Other Science” are deep acidic workouts that feel as if they were banged out in some sweaty basement. “Siren” brings the acid front and center with some hefty 303 work. On the flip things are a bit more subdued as the compression from the tape recording led to heavier drums. Real rough house music from 1989.
