Lee Perry: At WIRL Records LP
Rocksteady and reggae rarities from the Upsetter! Lee Perry At WIRL Records brings together hard to find Perry tracks from his time spent as session supervisor (and sometimes distributor) at West Indian Record Limited. At the time in the early 70’s, Perry had left Studio One to work at WIRL where he was able to hustle studio time to “record now and pay later.” Several influential tunes came from these sessions including “Set Them Free,” “Run For Cover,” “People Funny Boy” and others. There have been previous releases of some this material, but this one is superior terms of sound quality and track selection. Top quality 180g import pressing on Kingston Sounds.
