Description
La Dispute: Panorama (Selenite) (Indie Exclusive Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP
La Dispute scrapped an entire record as they began work on Panorama, the 4th album from the Michigan post-hardcore band. Part of the “New Wave of post-hardcore”, their contemporaries include Pianos Become The Teeth and Touché Amoré, but a clear debt is also owed to Slint. Vocalist Jordan Dreyer’s unflinching poetry is front and center across the disc, drifting from modulated spoken word to guttural howls. The albums begins with “Rose Quartz”, an ambient instrumental with a foreboding rumble, far below the surface of the marching band drumrolls of “Fulton Street I”. “Footsteps At The Pond” is another highlight, with the vocals carving out space among guitar hammer-ons, bass rumble, and crashing cymbal fills. This LP is pressed on clear vinyl and comes packaged in a gatefold sleeve.
