Classic 1997 EP from Detroit’s Kelli Hand! Whether it’s Detroit techno or deep house Hand’s productions always have a recognizable funkiness to them. The Project 5 EP goes the deep house route with four tracks peppered with chopped vocal samples and heavy duty drums. All four tracks are guaranteed to get things moving, from the vocal hook and meaty bass line that kicks off the A side to the deep gospel infused closing track. The second song on the A side flips the vocal from Larry Heard’s “Donnie” over some rough drums and dark leads. Classic Detroit house that wont be leaving your bag anytime soon.
