Description
Josey Wales: The Outlaw Josey Wales Vinyl LP
Debut studio album from dancehall pioneer Josey Wales. The Outlaw Josey Wales was originally recorded in 1983 after Wales had hooked up with one of the leading producers of early dancehall, Henry Junjo Lawes. Wales got his start by building on the DJ chatting of his mentor U-Roy, eventually developing a highly influential style of his own. His gravely, half spoken, half sung delivery was copied by many up and coming DJs. After the breakthrough smash of “Let Go Mi Hand” Wales status as a recording star would be set in place with the release of this album. Surpassed by only Yellowman at the time, Josey Wales was one of the preeminent figures of the early dancehall sound. Ten tracks in all. Released by Greensleeves Records on black vinyl with a full color sleeve.
