Sometimes italo gets a bad rap. Admittedly it can get pretty cheesy sometimes (ok, most times), but when the stars align, the italo sound can’t be touched. Take this jam from Jo Jo for instance… talk about funky! Originally released back in 1982 on the highly collectible Il Discotto label, “Mind Games” stands alone as one of the funkiest italo cuts of all time. Credit it to the extra soulful vocals, or that killer bassline, or the fact that their are no drum machines used on this track – whatever it is, this track is pure magic on wax. Comes with vocal version and instrumental on limited randomly colored vinyl. Recommended.
