Jim Sullivan: Jim Sullivan (Indie Exclusive Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP

Jim Sullivan’s disappearance in 1975 remains a mystery, but the singer-songwriter’s works, starting with Light In The Attic’s introduction of his debut album, U.F.O., continue to see the light of day. LITA’s latest Sullivan release is a lavish reissue of his 1972 self-titled sophomore effort, originally released on Hugh Hefner’s short-lived Playboy imprint. It’s a rare LP, and it showcases Sullivan taking a big stride into “country, folk rock, and swampy blues, mesmerically finger-picked, brass-bedecked, and with that uniqueness of phrasing—part crooner, part jazz singer—that makes Sullivan such a rare performer.” Highlights include “Don’t Let It Throw You,” “Lonesome Picker,” “Sunny Jim,” and “Tom Cat.” Mastered from original analog tapes, booklet with liner notes and rare archive photos, deluxe die cut jacket with embossed lettering, orange swirl color vinyl.
