Limited edition orange vinyl pressing for Black Friday Record Store Day 2014. J Mascis’ take on Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” is nearly as stirring as the original. The Dinosaur Jr frontman’s trademark whine carries the vocals perfectly. His simple acoustic guitar accompaniment is just the right side of restrained. There’s not much more that you could ask for from a cover like this. Of all the Record Store Day releases that came out this Black Friday this one seems to have just the right mix of elements to make it last forever.
