Description
J Dilla: The King Of Beats II Vinyl LP
The first volume of The King Of Beats (how ill was the SP-1200 boxset?) revealed 39 never-before-heard tracks from Dilla’s sonic treasure trove, and Volume II, available for the first time on vinyl, unearths 16 more dusty, jazzy treats from the late producer. The album cover is telling as the work featured on the release was created on the almighty beatsmith’s AKAI MPC3000 (which now resides at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture), and for fans of The King of Beats or hip-hop in general (especially those in to A Tribe Called Quest, Slum Village, The Pharcyde-type sounds), this release is essential.
