Whoa, new Dilla on Moodymann’s Mahogani Music label? It’s a no brainer! The much-anticipated Dillatroit album compiles unreleased/unheard Jay Dee production on limited edition wax. Some of the beats here can be heard on the recently released Rebirth Of Detroit, but this vinyl edition features instrumental versions that were not on the CD (and are superior IMO). All the beats here bump with that signature Dilla vibe, from the rough and raw “Birthright,” “Feel This Shit,” and “Ride Wit It,” to the smooth and soulful “Lets Pray Together,” “Dillatroit,” “Mind Yo Business,” and “Detroit Madness.” 12 tracks in all with dope pic sleeve. One time pressing only! Highly Recommended.
