Insanlar / Ricardo Villalobos: Kime Ne Vinyl 2×12″

Deep Turkish house with remixes from the master, Ricardo Villalobos. Insanlar was originally formed by Dj and producer Baris K, and multi-instrumentalist and composer Cem Yıldız back in 2010. They recorded “Kime Ne” live at Mini Müzikhol in 2013, weaving together acid house and Turkish folk music. It’s a beautiful cut that stays true to both traditions while taking the listener on an otherworldly trip. Released on Aboov Plak shortly after it was recorded, originally copies are scarce and pricey. This 2015 Honest Jon’s Records pressing helps to ease that pain while giving us two unique mixes from Ricardo Villalobos at the same time. The faster of the two takes does not stray to far from Villalobos’ output, but helps lend a psychedelic quality as the song expands. The slower, second version comes across as a more subtle take. Definite cop for the heads at the time and thankfully still in print for those that need to trip out on the dancefloor. Three tracks in all. Released by Honest Jon’s Records on double vinyl housed in a full color sleeve with a printed insert and an etching on side D.
