St. Paul, Minnesota’s Hippo Campus is enjoying quite a year, with Landmark, the band’s debut full-length released earlier this year, receiving love from critics and fans alike. The quartet has also been hitting the festival circuit hard, and before it sits down to write the next album, the members revisit some Landmark outtakes. The EP includes the fan-favorite “baseball,” which has been in the band’s live repertoire for a while, and the title track, which closes out the EP, is known to have been in contention to be the ending track for Landmark. “Traveler” is also great, full of the beachy, easy-going indie rock vibe that Hippo Campus executes so well. A fun, concise listen, this EP will certainly hold fans down until the next LP.
