Description
Grateful Dead: Family Dog at the Great Highway, San Francisco 4/18/70 (180g) 2LP (Record Store Day)
Black Friday Record Store Day 2013 Exclusive! Special live, acoustic set for all you Dead heads. The front of the sleeve lists “Mickey Hart And The Heartbeats” and “Bobby Ace And His Cards From The Bottom Of The Deck” as artists. We all know these are alias used by the Grateful Dead. It must have been something special to be in the audience for these recordings. They’re all very personal and have an intimate nature that some of their extended jams are just to dense and layered to possess. This is about as bare bones as the Dead can get, just guitars and voices for the most party. The better part of the album is all Dead, while the last quarter is a live set from Pigpen. This one is a must for fans!
