Debut studio album from Minneapolis’ Golden Smog. Down By The Old Mainstream was originally released in 1995 and featured a loose country rock sound filled with grit and fire. The band originally formed as a reaction to Minneapolis’ hardcore punk scene and featured a rotating cast of musicians. The inter-changeable group of musicians from notable bands included members of Wilco, Soul Asylum, The Replacements, The Jayhawks, Run Westy Run, Big Star and the Honeydogs. Includes the songs: “Radio King,” “Glad & Sorry,” and “Pecan Pie.” Fourteen tracks in all. Released by Run Out Groove on double 180 gram colored vinyl housed in an individually numbered tip on gatefold aqueous gloss Stoughton jacket with printed inner sleeves.
