Digger’s favorite featuring the jazz-funk classic “Celestial Blues.” Harlem Bush Music was originally recorded in 1970 and 1971, and is infused with the fury of the Vietnam War protest and the Civil Rights movement. Led by the powerful vocals of Andy Bey, the album tackles themes that are just as relevant today as when the music was recorded. It’s an adventurous recording that pushes against the boundaries of jazz using elements of spoken word and free jazz to communicate its message.  Five tracks in all. Released by Milestone Records on 180 gram vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve.
