Deluxe repress! The third album from Gangstarr is another Premier masterpiece. For its sheer consistency and genius track choreography, I gotta rate Daily Operation as the best Gangstarr album in the catalogue. I mean Primo really had his shit together on this one, from the standout tracks (of which there are many) to the perfectly positioned intros and interludes. It’s just a simple loop, but check the bass heavy horns of “24-7/365” and the way they set the table for the smoothed out “Shame In My Game.” That’s what it’s all about folks. No reason to sell you on this one, Daily Op on double vinyl is as essential to the hip hop collection as anything I can think of. Tracks include the classics “Take It Personal, Ex Girl To Next Girl, BYS,” the monumental posse cut “I’m The Man” with Jeru and Lil Dap, “The Place Where We Dwell, Soliloquy of Chaos, 2 Deep, Conspiracy, The Illest Brother, Hardcore Composer, Much Too Much” and the blunt head favorite “Take 2 and Pass.” 18 tracks total packaged in 3D lenticular sleeve.
