Description
Finders Keepers: Thai? Dai! – The Heavier Side of the Luk Thung Underground Vinyl LP
A tasteful collection of funk/psych/surf rock grooves from Thailand. Repressed for the first time since 2011, Thai? Dai! – The Heavier Side of the Luk Thung Underground is a glimpse into a forgotten (most of the tracks were released for the first time on this album) musical pocket of 60-70s Bangkok. From the Black Sabbath “Iron Man” riff in “Kuen Kuen Lueng Lueng” and the spaghetti-western-influenced “Ying Ting” to “Pu Yai Lee Santana,” which features a saucy, Carlos Santana-channeling guitar lick, the compilation is an authentic blend of local and westward musicalities, and what comes forth is a deep, psychedelic trip that’s both familiar and exotic. Curated by Andy Votel, Chris Menist and Maft Sai; all tracks have been remastered from original recordings.
