Vibes upon vibes upon vibes. It’s a family affair for Faces Records (the label that introduced us to Motor City Drum Ensemble) on Le Sampler Des Copains. Simply translated as “The Friends Sampler,” this ten track compilation showcases productions from Faces Records homies old and new, and you should already know it’s gonna be soulful, deep, and grooving. Plenty of raw house cuts in the soulful style that put the label on the map from S3A, Roman Rauch, Hugo XL, LB, and label head Pablo Valentino, plus tracks that hark back the label’s roots in instrumental hip hop beats from Ill Dubio and Simbad. Also includes the hefty club banger “My Tax Agent Fucked It Up” by Not Danilo (though maybe it is Danilo Plessow aka MCDE?). Import double vinyl pressing. Recommended.
