Super classic biz to start 2022 off right from the United Kingdom’s most respectful diggers, Mr Bongo. The 1987 debut single from EPMD (back when they were toying with the idea of spelling it ‘EPEE MD‘, reprinted faithfully here of course), both sides of which would end up on the equally classic debut long player Strictly Business. Seven inch reissue with Fresh Records labels and jacket. OG Lab review:
Enough about that, let’s get on to something better, and if it gets warm, take off the hot sweater. You’re a Customer is a bona-fide lottery point man, but the b-side is the show stealing 2 guard. ‘It’s My Thing’ freaks ‘7 minutes’ before Jay-Z ever touched a mic, and moves the crowd with the monotone flow. Staple crate material. This one never came in a picture sleeve, only the Fresh sleeve shown here.
