Entro Senestre: ES Vinyl 12″
We first heard from Entro Senestre on one of the early release from W.T. Records. La Caccia was a diverse collection of tracks that packed in house, Italo and more cosmic influences. Since then Entro (aka John Beall) has put out EPs on Echovolt and Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S. imprint, as well as collaborating on a handful of releases with W.T. head honcho Will Burnett as Daywalker + CF. ES finds the producer back on Burnett’s W.T. Records with some of his most accomplished material to date. The tracks are just as varied as Beall’s earlier releases, and pack a variety of modes and feelings on the two sides of wax. The record opens with one of Beall’s most undeniable productions. “Rosegold” rolls in smooth and unencumbered, ready to take you somewhere away from your day to day. It will have you lost in the moment with your mind completely free, as only music of this caliber can. The vibe continues with “DOHC” although it is more acidic than the piano house of its predecessor. It’s a track that takes its time evolving, with chords coming in to support the more kinetic elements as things progress. We get a different taste of what Beall has been up to on the flip. The ambient chords of “TriState” float out of nowhere before chopped up breakbeats come in through the atmosphere. Those tones lead seamlessly into the mellow 2-step of “SB Dauntless.” A sublime listen from end to end with some cuts perfectly primed for the dance floor. Recommended.
