DJ Cam digs in the archives for an ill set of beats pressed up on super limited vinyl. Vintage Beats contains original productions from the French beatmaker/DJ circa 1999 – 2003, produced solely on the MPC3000 and a few keyboards. So much to dig into here, with many of the beats paying tribute to Dilla and classic golden-era producers like Primo and Pete Rock, but all with Cam’s smooth french touch. Highlights include “Inside My Love,” “Alice,” “Bounce Nil,” “Flashlight,” and “Mr. Cool.” Some of these beats even have a heavy Dam-Funk vibe goin’ on (especially “Prince”). Only 500 copies made. Recommended.
