Danny Brown: Hot Soup Vinyl 2LP+7″
First time on vinyl! Of course we’re all familiar with the antics of Detroit’s Danny Brown by now, but he first made waves with his Hot Soup mixtape back in 2008. House Shoes’ Street Corner Music has done us all a favor and re-released the thing on double vinyl. There’s production from veteran Detroit head Nick Speed, as well as Brown himself. Guest spots include Big Pooh and Quelle Chris amongst others. This is definitely a more vintage Danny Brown sound, a bit different than his Fool’s Gold material. Still banging and packed with energy. They’ve also included 5 bonus tracks that were not on the original mixtape and an exclusive 45 with an alternate version of “Contra.” A definite must for any Danny Brown head.
