The Ambassador of Boogie Funk returns with four inspired cuts of high grade modern funk. Dam-Funk channels some pretty heavy Prince vibes on “I Don’t Wanna Be A Star,” his uptempo ode to the music he lives to create. And it’s only fitting that he covers Prince’s “17 Days.” It’s one of the most on point Prince covers out there. Dam adds his signature west coast flavor while maintaining the feeling of the original. “Fadin'” and “New Knock” are for the fans that just want that signature Dam-Funk vibe. They each arrive at that point in their own unique fashion, but they’re wrapped up in his Ladera Heights haze.
