Description
Cursive: Such Blinding Stars For Starving Eyes (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP
Omaha, Nebraska’s Cursive broke out into the scene with Domestica, but the band already had two full-lengths under its name by the time it dropped the 2000 LP, Such Blinding Stars For Starving Eyes being one of them. Tim Kasher, Clint Schnase, Matt Maginn, and Stephen Pederson’s sound, which fuses indie rock with post-hardcore (read: a lot of distortion, emotion, screaming) is charged with youthful vigor on Such Blinding…, and the 1997 album, which is a bit rough around the edges in comparison to Domestica, is a fresh, more raw alternative/companion to the group’s later projects. Check out “After the Movies,” “Downhill Racers,” “Ceilings Crack,” and “Vermont.”
