Seventh studio album from Austin’s Balmorhea. Clear Language comes nearly five years after the eclecticism of 2012’s Stranger and turns back to the simplicity of their 2007 debut. The music is light and gentle, with layers of sound introduced as the songs unfolds. Guitar, synthesizers and strings are joined by field recordings to create atmospheric pieces that are imbued with memorable melodies. It’s refreshing to hear the duo taking inspiration from their past without retreading old ground. Ten tracks in all. Released by Western Vinyl on limited edition opaque white vinyl housed in an uncoated jacket with a foldout poster and digital download.
