More steel pan flames from BRSB. Lab heads already know that Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band don’t play when it comes to heavy duty steel band funk, and this time two previously digital-only cuts from the Serpents Mouth sessions make it to vinyl for the first time by popular demand! First up, BRSB take on the Jackson 5’s “Great To Be Here,” adding infectious steel pan work and huge open breaks to the already killer B-Boy anthem for proper peak time play. On the flip, Gangstarr’s “All 4 The Ca$h” gets the steel pan treatment, taking it from the gritty NY streets to the island sands. Heavy! Recommended.
