American Football (LP3) sees the band taking stock of what occurred during their initial absence, integrating aspects of shoegaze and dreampop to create a sound more rich and expressive than ever. Guest appearances by Paramore’s Haley Williams and Rachel Goswell of Slowdive emphasize their newfound eclecticism, adding a refreshing pop sheen to instrumentation that is more complex than ever.
