Too far gone. House anthem from Adonis, now on 45 courtesy of Get On Down. The track would become one of Trax’s early club hits, rumored to have sold upwards of 100,000 copies at the time of release, and still wrecks the dance floor to this day. Raised in the West Side of Chicago, Adonis played in several jazz and funk bands before getting introduced to the house scene and was only 19 years old when he produced “No Way Back” back in 1986. The track’s stripped down approach and Gary B’s cold, effortless vocals give it a modern, dystopian vibe that stands the test of time. “Release my soul / I’ve lost control / Too far gone / Ain’t no way back.” Instrumental version included.
