Kraftwerk: Techno Pop (Indie Exclusive Clear Vinyl) Vinyl LP
Just look at that cover. Gotta love the Kraftwerk pic sleeves, especially with the old school CG portraits. Techno Pop (originally released under the title Electric Cafe) is an interesting piece of the Kraftwerk catalog; probably one of the more slept-on albums in their catalog, yet “Der Telefon Anruf” (“The Telephone Call”) ended up getting a heavy duty remix from techno legend Francois K on a separate 12-inch. The track (and the album as a whole) continues in the direction they started on Computer World with somber vibes and undeniable electro sounds. Also don’t miss “House Phone,” an instrumental version of the track with extra phone sound effects to fill in the gaps, as well as “Musique Non Stop” and “Sex Objekt.” An essential piece of the Kraftwerk puzzle, despite usually being left out of the conversation.
