In 2014, Kate Bush announced 15 London shows for August and September of that year. The Hammersmith Apollo dates marked the artist’s first live appearance since 1979, and the tickets sold out very quickly. 7 more were added, and the demand remained just as voracious. If you got to experience what the Evening Standard declared “an extraordinary mix of magical ideas, stunning visuals, attention to detail and remarkable music — she was so obviously , so unambiguously brilliant, it made last night something to tell the grandchildren about,” good for you. If not, here’s your chance to experience the enchanted performances. Before The Dawn is the second live album from the English singer-songwriter, and it is split into three acts. First contains an assortment of greatest hits (“Hounds of Love,” “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” and “King of the Mountain”), followed by the second act consisting of the entire second side (titled The Night Wave, includes spoken monologue piece “Astronomer’s Call”) of her 5th album Hounds of Love. The last part is made up of songs from side two of 2005’s Aerial entitled A Sky Of Honey, and it’s important to note that the album, produced by Kate Bush, contains no tracks that have been re-recorded or overdubbed.
