Description
Gerd Janson: Musik for Autobahns 2LP
Rush Hour tapped Gerd Janson, one of the co-founders of Germany’s esteemed Running Back label, to put together this compilation of tracks aimed to the left of the dancefloor. While the majority of the producers found here might be the type to have you dancing for hours, Janson has squeezed some early morning 4am material out of them. Deep house duo Âme take an intriguing detour into the world of electronic experimentation on the opening track. Things take a turn for the more straight ahead with Tom Trago’s and Roman Flügel’s contributions. The rhythm is there, but they tend to go in otherworldly directions. Many of the tracks toe the same line, holding tight to their roots in dance music while delving deep into their synths. At the same time it’s compelling to see artists like CF & Daywalker (bka Entro Senestre and Willie Burns) sharing space with Tensnake and Quiet Village. Another quality compilation from the ever prolific Rush Hour.
