Description
Beck: Odelay Vinyl LP
Second major label album from SoCal slacker Beck. Odelay was originally released in 1996 and seems to be the point where it all came together for Beck Hansen. Working with the Dust Brothers on their first major project since the Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique, Beck tied together the various strains that were bubbling under the surface of his music. Okie folk, indie noise, non sequitur slack jaw pseudo rapping, and a bevy of breakbeats and samples all came together in the name of some of the most infectious pop of the time. There are big hooks all over the place which helped the album find a home in the pop culture of the late 1990s. And it was the perfect record for that moment in time. Includes the songs: “Where It’s At”, “Devils Haircut”, and “The New Pollution.” Thirteen tracks in all. Released by DGC on black vinyl.
